Read moreAQUAMAN Review
After decades of getting treated like a pop culture punchline, thanks almost entirely to “Super Friends” (with a little help from “HBO’s Entourage”), Aquaman finally has his own feature film. It’s a weird and at times trippy superhero adventure that strives — and almost succeeds — to be the most epic superhero movie ever made…

In 2012, Marvel released The Avengers and fundamentally changed the idea of what's possible in blockbuster filmmaking. Five years later, DC has finally managed to bring its own superhero team to life with Zack Snyder's Justice League, and while the result is enjoyable, it also could be better. After having just seen this movie I think this movie will mostly get the sort of positive reaction everyone expects when it officially comes out Aug 5th, but I also think it won’t wind up quite as acclaimed as those two films, for a few reasons...

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most visually beautiful comic book movies you have ever seen. The picture is filled with moments of visual poetry and pure cinema in a way that resembles one glorious splash page after another. If you have any interest in seeing it, I beg of you to see it on the biggest IMAX screen you can find. It is every bit as big and spectacular as you might hope...
